DIETRO LA MASCHERA

Dietro la maschera è un viaggio intimo e inedito nel cuore pulsante dei laboratori dove la magia prende forma. Per un mese intero, ho avuto l'opportunità di seguire gli artigiani dei carri nel cuore del Sud Sardegna, documentando il loro lavoro instancabile e la passione che anima i laboratori di Guspini, Gonnosfanadiga, Terralba e San Gavino Monreale situati nel cuore del Medio Campidano, nel sud-ovest della Sardegna. Immergendomi in questa realtà, l'obiettivo ha catturato le varie fasi che compongono la creazione, i momenti più intimi di condivisione, i volti concentrati, le coreografie dei corpi di ballo, documentando le fatiche e le gioie come se fossi parte integrante dei gruppi. È un'immersione nell'atmosfera dei laboratori, un mix di fatica, polvere e pura creatività che per più di una settimana riempie le strade dei vari paesi. Qui, tra la colla e i colori, si scoprono i momenti di riposo, i pasti condivisi a tarda notte e le risate che stemperano la tensione. È un tributo a un'arte che, nonostante le difficoltà, porta valore e muove l'economia della zona, immortalando l'anima di una tradizione che vive e si rinnova di anno in anno.

BEHIND THE MASK

Behind the Mask is an intimate and unique journey into the beating heart of the workshops where magic takes shape. For a whole month, I had the opportunity to follow the float-makers in the heart of southern Sardinia, documenting their tireless work and the passion that drives the workshops in Guspini, Gonnosfanadiga, Terralba and San Gavino Monreale, situated in the heart of the Medio Campidano region in south-west Sardinia. Immersing myself in this world, my lens captured the various stages of creation, the most intimate moments of sharing, the focused faces, and the choreography of the dance troupes, documenting the toil and the joys as if I were an integral part of the groups. It is an immersion in the atmosphere of the workshops, a mix of hard work, dust and pure creativity that fills the streets of the various villages for over a week. Here, amidst the glue and colours, one discovers moments of rest, late-night shared meals and laughter that eases the tension. It is a tribute to an art form which, despite the difficulties, brings value and drives the local economy, immortalising the soul of a tradition that lives on and renews itself year after year.
